    Medical & Scientific Affairs Scientist

    About the role

    The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of medical affairs excellence and provide support within the CEE Medical Affairs organization in order to deliver business results and growth in RO and ensure effective deployment of Safety/Compliance across Haleon business.

    This position will work closely with the RHCS Medical and Scientific Affairs Principle Scientist to establish direction, execute strategy, and ensure delivery of medical goals and objectives within country of scope by driving the effectiveness and efficiency of the R&D community and cross-functional partners.

    This role collaborates extensively with various business functions to drive and implement medical affairs brand/product strategies, innovation and deliverables, including R&D functions, Category Medical Affairs, Global Category Leads, Commercial Leads, Commercial Operations Directors and GM's, Safety, Legal, Toxicology and Corporate Compliance functions.

    The impact that this role can have upon business success is critical. Application of medical technical expertise and keen insight will increase the scientific impact of Haleon's business activities.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Supporting the EMEA, CEE BU and Cluster MA leads in delivering the short term and long-term goals and objectives activities to ensure that all Medical functions are appropriately aligned across the category.
    • Support medical communication and publication strategy as required.
    • Scientific engagement activities at local level.
    • Interface on behalf of Haleon with external organizations including Health Authorities, Healthcare Organizations, External Experts etc.
    • Medical Affairs activities including but not limited to:
      • Strategic support based on medical concepts, ethics and consumers safety and well-being,
      • Support and innovate to accurate, scientifically substantiated and consumer appealing claims.
      • Support to market information on data collection and analysis of Haleon products and competitors
      • Promotional materials evaluation and approval
    • With oversight from Cluster MA Lead provide expert medical input to regulatory applications, new product development and clinical activities, and business development and acquisition initiatives
    • Contributing to scientific and technical training of Haleon products and competitors.
    • To provide scientific input to legal activities such as litigations, business practices evaluation and local policies development.
    • To medically support customer enquiry systems which respond to enquiries and complaints.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Broad based Medical Affairs industry experience (at least 2 years) operating in a commercial environment, preferably with understanding of Pharma, OTC, Medical Devices, Oral Care and/or Nutritional space
    • Strong, multi-discipline experience in medical filed, including clinical development, operations, project management, safety, publications or other functions in order to act decisively to manage the operational needs of the Medical Affairs Community with minor direction.
    • Demonstrated ability utilizing influential leadership to manage projects and processes to a successful conclusion
    • Strong project management and organizational skills. Proactive, with ability to anticipate and plan, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, make decisions and respond to tight timelines.
    • Ability to manage and influence discussions with others Excellent communication, influencing and negotiations skills. Ability to facilitate alignment and collaboration across groups/regions.
    • Strong change leadership, ability and eagerness to challenge status quo; make quick decisions; and lead/operate successfully in an empowered organization.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Strong computer literacy including competent in Microsoft Office software
    • Strong evidence of the behaviours articulated in the Haleon leadership expectations
