    What we are looking for-

    We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Assistant or Consultant to join our International Trade and Customs team, who:

    • Has between 2 to 4 years of experience in Romanian customs matters;
    • Has a good understanding of the EU customs legislation, as well as the Romanian customs practice;
    • Has a University degree in Economics/Polytechnics/Mathematics/Law;
    • Has very good knowledge of English (writing, speaking and listening);
    • Has good command of the MS Office package: (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
    • Is a team player and takes ownership of own actions;
    • Is curious, problem-solving oriented and has very good communication skills;
    • Is flexible, open to change, proactive and has a lifelong learning mindset;
    • Has a business-oriented attitude and is able to think outside the box;
    • Experience in logistics, freight forwarding and / or as a customs broker would be a plus.

    Your role

    • You will become an integral part of the International Trade and Customs team, which is part of our Indirect Taxes team, creating good contacts and developing relationships with clients, other KPMG teams and the wider business community.
    • Your main focus will be on customs projects, involving tariff classification, customs authorizations or general customs advice provided to our clients.

    You will work extensively with the EU customs legislation and Romanian tax legislation and you will apply it in practice during jobs such as consultancy, tax assistance to audits and others.

    Depending on the position, you will own assigned work, become the main contact person of our clients and you will apply knowledge gained through training and on-the-job experience to answer our clients' requests.

    You will seek to embed technology and data analytics into the work process.

    You will participate in social and networking events to develop your knowledge and contacts within KPMG.
